Sebira Island Needs Communal IPAL

Seribu Islands Water Resources Sub-dept. proposed the construction of a communal waste-water treatment plant (IPAL) on Sebira Island, Harapan Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands.

"We propose the communal IPAL about five until 10 houses with bio-filter system. We'll do it in the upcoming executive meeting," expressed Mustajab, Head of Seribu Islands Water Resources Sub-dept., Saturday (2/4).

IPAL Project on di Panggang Island Stagnated

According to citizen's information, the existing IPAL is already damaged and cannot be used anymore. As replacement, citizens built a septic tank in each house to accommodate domestic waste. While for salted fish processing waste, immediately disposed to the sea thus it is worried could pollute the sea.

"This condition must be solved as soon as possible. If not, it will pollute the water," he closed.
